Our staff strive to deliver the very best care for every child. All of our employees hold or are working towards a recognised childcare qualification and are first aid trained. Staff members regularly attend training courses for their continued professional development and to keep up to date with the latest guidelines. All members of staff undergo an enhanced DBS and referencing checks to ensure they are suitable to work with children. Please visit 'our nurseries' for an introduction from each of our Nursery Managers.
When your child joins the nursery, they will be assigned a key person. The key person will be responsible for supporting your child’s development and emotional wellbeing, and will help your child become familiar with the nursery and to feel safe and confident within it. They will build a trusting and special relationship with your child and, by understanding their individual needs, they will provide a range of bespoke activities to assist with their learning and progression. The key person will also act as the key point of contact with the child’s parents or carers. They will provide you with daily feedback, such as meals eaten and activities, as well as regular updates on your child’s development and progress.
The safety of our children, staff, parents/carers and visitors is paramount to us.
We have devised comprehensive security processes within the nursery – these are laid out in the policy booklet and include a video entry phone system and a sign-in/sign-out system for all visitors. We also have installed extensive CCTV systems in all of our nurseries to ensure the safety of everyone in the nursery. Strict policies are in place to ensure the correct use and maintenance of the CCTV systems – these can also be found in the policy booklet.
At Ladybird, we provide a safe early learning environment in which children learn and are cared for. We maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment, and systems of work for all of our employees. We provide information, training and supervision to develop and promote a strong health and safety culture within the nursery for the benefit of children, staff and parents/carers.
Here at Ladybird, we take safeguarding very seriously and as such, we have comprehensive policies to ensure the safeguarding of the children in our care. Copies of all policies are kept in the hallway of each setting. Members of staff are legally obliged to report all safeguarding concerns to the Local Authority. If you have any safeguarding concerns, please contact the Nursery Manager immediately.
